Family Voices is a network of families, advocating for community inclusion of their children (all ages) who have developmental disabilities. Family Voices groups have access to guidance and many resources, such as post secondary education options and the Employement Partnership Program through their connection with the Alberta Association for Community Living. AACL has been serving children and adults with developmental disabilities for over 50 years. Some resources may also be available through PDD and FSCD.
Program through Family Services of Central Alberta. Healthy Families is a voluntary, no fee program that offers in-home visitation to parents with new babies. After a review of the family's situation, home visiting may be offered. The home visitor will provide connections to community supports child development information and strategies, family literacy activities, and general parenting information. Each family receives service based on their individual needs and interests.
KidSport Kneehill is coordinated by community volunteers to assist economically disadvantage families to access sport opportunities.
This program provides two services to the residents of the Kneehill area. Three Family Resource Workers provide confidential support counselling to individuals and families, preventative education programming and information or referral. This service is offered free to any resident of Kneehill County. The second service is Family and Marriage Counselling which operates on a sliding fee scale and can be accessed by contacting the Family Resource Worker.
Working for municipalities to meet the preventative social programming needs of their communities. Kneehill FCSS provides information and referral, some direct services, and funding to not-for-profit preventative social programming services and initiatives.
