NOTICE OF PROPOSED BYLAW

TOWN OF TROCHU – PUBLIC NOTICE

PROPOSED BYLAW #2024-10

Bylaw #2024-10, being a bylaw to incur indebtedness for the construction of the Trochu Seniors Supportive Living Facility received first reading  at a Special Meeting of Council on November 19, 2024, at 6:00pm in the Council Chambers at Trochu Town Office.

The purpose of Bylaw #2024-10 is to consider authorization for the Town of Trochu to incur indebtedness through financing from the Province of Alberta or other financial institution for construction of the Trochu Seniors Supportive Living Facility. A copy of the proposed bylaw may be inspected by the public during regular office hours, from 8:00am to 4:00pm, at Trochu Town Office (222 Northfield Road, Trochu) or here on the Town website.

Unless a vote of the electors is demanded the Town of Trochu Council may pass this Bylaw following the second and third readings. To call for a vote of the electors to determine whether the proposed bylaw should be passed, electors may submit a petition. The petition must meet the formal requirements of the Municipal Government Act and be filed with the Chief Administrative Officer within 15 days after the last date the proposed bylaw is advertised. For this bylaw, the last date of advertisement is November 27th, 2024, and a petition must be filed on or before December 12th, 2024.

A petition must be signed by the required number of petitioners, that is the petition must be signed by the electors of the municipality equal in number to at least 10% of the population (998 total population = 100 signatures).
