Upcoming Municipal Planning Commission Meetings

MPC Agenda for Tuesday, May 30th, 2023

MPC meetings are held in the Council Chambers at Trochu Town Office. Please note that while MPC meetings are open to the public, they are not Public Hearings. The most effective way to submit feedback on a particular development proposal is in writing in advance of the meeting to the Planning and Development department, who can then attach it to the public agenda package.

PLANNING & DEVELOPMENT

The development and use of land and buildings within the Town of Trochu is regulated by Trochu’s Land Use Bylaw (LUB), and amendments thereof, and Municipal Development Plan (MDP), as well as the Province of Alberta’s Municipal Government Act (MGA), with a goal of orderly economic and physical growth.

All new construction, renovations, demolition, home occupations, and subdivisions planned within the Town of Trochu require an Approved Development Permit and may require other permits through Palliser Regional Municipal Services (PRMS).  A Town of Trochu Approved Development Permit must be submitted to PRMS before these other permits (such as Building, Electrical, Plumbing, Gas, etc.) can be applied for.

Please see further down the page for more information on the Town of Trochu’s development process, as well as links to all relevant forms and documents.

If you do not find the information you need here, please feel free to contact the Town at 403-442-3085 or send your questions to utilities@townoftrochu.ca.
