Trochu Golf & Country Club

The present nine hole course in Trochu, designed by Syd Pudicomb, was constructed in 1990 and opened the fall of 1991.

The course is fashioned around a creek which meanders through a natural coulee with uphill and downhill lies, challenging the golfer on several fairways. Treed hillsides and brush are in evidence on five or six holes.

The most challenging hole is the par five, 413 yard 6th. To make par , a long drive is recommended down this narrow fairway, with an out of bounds on the left, and a row of trees on the right. A long iron shot will take you across the creek , which lies directly to the sharply raised green. A row of thick brush rises from the creek bed to the right, and sits to the left of the green.

With a creek just in front of the green, the par four 2nd is easily the most scenic hole. Your drive must down a gently slopping and generous fairway to lay up in front of the green. The island green is protected by a lagoon to the left, a creek which flows in front and to the right side, and sand traps to the right and left. It’s a special hole that makes you grateful to be a golfer.

Open to the public April through October .
