Fire Advisory in Effect

Due to improved conditions, the Fire Ban in effect for Kneehill County has been lifted.

A FIRE ADVISORY is now in effect for Kneehill County.

Burn permits may be applied for; however, due to varying conditions throughout the County, Fire Guardians may deny permit applications.
Please continue to use extreme caution and follow all fire safety guidelines.

Under a Fire Advisory:

  • Campfires, backyard fires, and charcoal briquettes are allowed.
  • New burn permits will be issued on a case-by-case basis.
  • If conditions worsen, a Fire Restriction or Fire Ban may be instated.

Prohibited:

Any burning without a valid fire permit, other than a campfire, is prohibited.

Trochu Housing Corporation Construction update: Progress is being made. Cinder block walls being erected on Phase 4 (Mechanical wing). Cinder block firewall between Phase 3 and Phase 5 main areas. Phase 1 HVAC ducts, plumbing, electrical, and hanging drywall ongoing. Lots of wire, pipe, and ducts will be hidden behind walls and ceilings. Steel beams and posts in Phase 5. Concrete floor poured on Phase 5. Foundation concrete walls poured for parkade of Phase 6. Storm sewer manholes and structural footings are being added to parkade floor.
