Trochu Senior Housing construction update: Some aerials of the construction site. Large excavating equipment installing manholes for sanitary sewer and storm sewer. Water lines already installed. Grey under slab plumbing being laid. White underfloor electrical conduit to run power lines through. Green poly being laid over gravel base in preparation for cement floors. Smaller excavation equipment digging trenches for plumbing and electrical lines. Including shovels and wheelbarrows. Foundation walls for Phase 5 being built. Coring holes through cement walls for power and sewer lines. Dozens of stacks of prebuilt walls lined up.
Trochu Seniors Housing Construction Update – Proceeding with footings and foundation of Phase 5. Notice large excavation pit for main elevator. Underfloor plumbing for Phase 1 is underway. Walls are being prebuilt under tent cover to be erected soon. Almost completed all walls for Phase 1 and 2 for 2 floors. Notice pics of stacks of walls. Underground utilities materials have been delivered. Water, sewer, and storm sewer supplies are onsite.
Trochu Senior Housing Construction update: Some lumber has been delivered to site. A tent building is being constructed to frame walls within. Walls will then be moved and stood up in final position. Phase 3 and 4 footings are poured. Foundation wall forms are being set for these areas. Continuing to backfill Phase 2.
Trochu Seniors Housing Construction update: Lots of metal is embedded in the concrete footings and foundation. 2” Styrofoam insulation is outside the foundation walls to help keep frost out. Phase 1 is mostly backfilled. Started backfilling Phase 2. Footings poured on Phase 3 and framing begun for foundation walls. Started digging trenches for Phase 4.
We are backfilling phase 1 foundation walls as well as digging phase 2 footings and pouring phase 3 foundation walls
Here’s some aerial pics for your scrutiny. The first 2 Phases are southern end of building. Supportive Living. The building will extend to the north from here with the parkade and Independent Living being the final Phase for construction.
Trochu Seniors Housing Construction update: Phase 1 foundation walls are curing with exterior sealant rolled on. Forms are all laid out for Phase 2 footings being poured. Cement trucks dump into hopper of cement pumper unit. Hoses and tarps are still covering Phase 3 to thaw frost.
Trochu Senior Housing construction update: Foundation walls are being poured. Will continue throughout the week. More trenches being dug for Phase 2 footings. Placing heated lines for thawing ground for Phase 3
