Here’s some aerial pics for your scrutiny. The first 2 Phases are southern end of building. Supportive Living. The building will extend to the north from here with the parkade and Independent Living being the final Phase for construction.
Trochu Seniors Housing Construction update: Phase 1 foundation walls are curing with exterior sealant rolled on. Forms are all laid out for Phase 2 footings being poured. Cement trucks dump into hopper of cement pumper unit. Hoses and tarps are still covering Phase 3 to thaw frost.

“Trochu Senior Housing construction update: Footings are being poured. Steel dowels are embedded vertically to tie into the foundation. Cement pumper is used to place cement into forms. Tarps are on previously poured areas to contain heat while curing. Phase 1 of 6.”
Trochu Seniors Housing Construction update: Trenches are being excavated to prep for pouring concrete foundation. Heat is pumped under the tarps to thaw ground frost. Some concrete forms are in place.
Notice to Surrounding Communities: Changes to Torrington Landfill Access
Please be advised that effective January 1, 2025, use of the Torrington Landfill will be restricted to Kneehill County ratepayers and residents only. (You must live or own land in the County, outside of towns and villages.) This decision has been made to help extend the life of the landfill site and ensure it can continue to meet the long-term needs of Kneehill County residents.
Kneehill County is currently advertising this change, and we ask that you please share this information with your residents to ensure everyone is aware and can make alternative waste disposal arrangements as needed.

Congratulations Barry !
Mayor Barry Kletke of the Town of Trochu has received Alberta Municipalities Distinguished Service Award.
Born in Trochu in 1964, Barry has dedicated his life to his community. Barry was a key advocate for the Kneehill Regional Partnership, always believing in the collective good. He supported the central Medical Clinic in Three Hills and has been instrumental in recruiting doctors to the region.
Since 2008, Barry has worked tirelessly to bring a new Senior Supportive Living Facility to Trochu, with construction starting this fall. He also played a crucial role in modernizing the K-12 school.
Barry’s vision for economic growth has made Trochu a leader in attracting foreign workers and investors. His efforts have brought numerous achievements, including the “World’s Largest Golf Tee” and being part of the Olympic Torch Run route.
When a fire led to layoffs affecting 20% of the town’s population, Barry created the Emergency Relief Fund to support those in need. Barry’s leadership and commitment have profoundly impacted Trochu and is an inspiration to all.
